The Petropoulakis family farm is a place where nature meets tradition, and hospitality carries the taste and fragrance of the village. Here, the daily table is filled with the purest and most authentic gifts of the land, offering guests more than a meal – a true experience of Mani.
Vegetables and fruits, olive oil, olives, and meats are cultivated with love and organic methods. Each product is the fruit of knowledge, care, and respect for the earth, under the guidance of Dimitris, agronomist, and his wife Panagiota, a farmer deeply rooted in Maniot tradition.
Tradition also lives within the home. Kyrá Chrysoula, Panagiota’s mother, preserves the secrets of the old ways. With patience and skill, she crafts olive oil soap as it was once made, a ritual that carries the fragrance of history.
From her hands come spoon sweets, aromatic jams, pies, and homemade delicacies. Each flavor recalls childhood summers in the village, filled with the warmth of family and the scent of the land.
To accompany them, mountain herbs create infusions that soothe both body and soul: lemon balm, St. Mary’s herb, mint, balm, thyme, and oregano. Their aromas surround the visitor with the essence of untouched nature.
The family’s country table is generous yet simple: kayianas with fresh eggs and tomatoes, smoked sausage, cured pork, free-range rooster with handmade pasta, and savory wild-greens pies. Every dish tells a story of the land.
And of course, bread is never absent. Hand-kneaded and baked in the wood-fired oven, it carries the unique aroma and taste that only firewood can bestow. The simplest of pleasures, yet the most essential.
All of this can be enjoyed here, and also taken home from the family store: certified organic products, olives, oregano, and handmade treats that allow you to bring a piece of Mani back to your own table.
The Petropoulakis family farm is not merely a place of production. It is a living organism, where land, tradition, and hospitality coexist in harmony. A place where every visitor is not a customer, but a guest – a friend who becomes part of the family’s story.
